The course provides a solid introduction to the analysis and management of water resources at the global and regional level. It focuses on systems, governance, integrated water resources management, practical examples, and current data, models, and decision-support tools for sustainable water management.

This course introduces students to the assessment and management of water resources, focusing on water availability, quality, uses, and conflicts at regional and global scales. Key topics include water resources systems and assessment, water uses and pressures, water governance and economics, Integrated Water Resources Management (IWRM), and tools for monitoring, modelling, and decision support. Students learn to apply baseline water resources assessments and integrate technical, socio-economic, and legal-political perspectives to support sustainable water planning and decision-making.
