Water Week: Blue Carbon, Plastic Litter and Technology for Circular Economy

The course is designed for doctoral students of BIGS-DR and BIGS Land and Food (University of Bonn), Master's students of ARTS (Agricultural Sciences and Resource Management in the Tropics and Subtropics, University of Bonn), Geography of Environmental Risks and Human Security (UNU-EHS) and (doctoral) students from programs being part of the German Association of Postgraduate Programmes (AGEP). The number of participants is limited to 15.

We are pleased to invite you to our Water Week from 26.2.- 1.23.2024 at the Center for Development Research (ZEF).

The conservation and sustainable use of oceans is one of the SDGs. Prof. Dr. Mitsuo Yamamoto, University of Tokyo, will work with you in this compact course for 5 days on how this goal can be achieved from an environmental science perspective. Among others, the topics will be blue carbon, marine plastic waste, seaweed bed restoration, and fisheries.
