The political and societal challenges of forced migration from Africa
On behalf of the BMZ and the DAAD and together with AGEP the Otto von Guericke University hosts a Winter School from 17-20 November 2015 with the title: „The political and societal challenges of forced migration from Africa – Local causes, regional responses and global responsibility”.
The Winter School aims at fostering a dialogue between academics, practitioners, policy makers and representtatives of civil society from different regions and cultures in order to understand the phenomenon of forced migration in a more comprehensive way. Causes and responses to forced migration need to be evaluated in both the home societies and the receiving countries of refugees, given the transnational roots and global interdependence of economic processes, climate change phenomena, social inequalities and violent conflicts.
This is why the Winter School will bring together representatives from both sub-Saharan Africa and Europe in order to allow for a multiperspective approach on the issues at stake.
Please find the detailed AGEP Winter-School Program in PDF-format attached below.
