The idea of networking, sharing information and making use of the synergies that lie in its academic diversity is the central theme of the AGEP.
By systematically building up linkages, study offers can be advanced and used more efficiently, alumni may play a more active role for the study programmes in the future and practical partnerships can be expanded and institutionalized, domestic as well as abroad.
This will not only increase the prominence of the AGEP amongst the relevant national and international institutions in the field of development cooperation, but ultimately make it even more attractive to start studying in one of the AGEP programmes, located all over Germany.
For the purpose of a systematical build-up and the coordination of these intensified networking activities between the AGEP courses, the master programmes “Development Management” at the Ruhr-University Bochum and “SPRING” at the Faculty for Spatial Planning at the Technical University of Dortmund have, supported by the DAAD, recruited Robin Pass as a Network-Coordinator.
With his establishment at the TU Dortmund and – in a second phase – at the RUB, both universities as well as the DAAD are taking a pioneering role in the organized exchange between teaching, research and management involving students, alumni, teachers and their respective partners in science, economy and development cooperation.
Robin Pass is no neophyte when it comes to development policy issues – he studied International Relations and Development Policy at the University of Duisburg-Essen. His studies took him to Beijing, where he interned at the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ), and to the KfW Development Bank in Frankfurt am Main. After completing his Master’s degree, Mr. Pass worked as a consultant for the GIZ’s Economic and Structural Reform programme in China.
In his function as a hub for networking activities, Robin Pass welcomes being approached – should you be interested in engaging with the AGEP network, please do not hesitate to contact him!
