The idea of networking, sharing information and making use of the synergies that lie in its academic diversity is the central theme of the AGEP.
By systematically building up linkages, study offers can be advanced and used more efficiently, alumni may play a more active role for the study programmes in the future and practical partnerships can be expanded and institutionalized, domestic as well as abroad.
This will not only increase the prominence of the AGEP amongst the relevant national and international institutions in the field of development cooperation, but ultimately make it even more attractive to start studying in one of the AGEP programmes, located all over Germany.
To further support coordination of networking activities between the AGEP courses and promote sustainability and gradual independence of the network, the “Master of Science in International Health” Programme at the Heidelberg Institute of Global Health, University of Heidelberg, that has been entrusted with the coordination role of the AGEP Network in May 2018, appointed Jamila Nabieva as the Network Coordinator.
As a graduate of one of the AGEP Programmes and an international alumnus of the Heidelberg Institute of Global Health, Jamila Nabieva acknowledges the pivotal role of networking and collaboration between alumni, postgraduate programmes and research institutions in further enhancement of human capacity and opportunities for development.
With over 10 years of working experiences for international development agencies like European Commission, World Bank, German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ), World Health Organization, as well as health research and training institutions, Jamila Nabieva appreciates the opportunity to contribute to networking of the study programmes preparing future development workers and change agents.
