Invitation to the tenth AGEP Webinar on the Alumniportal Deutschland

“Living Income – Reaching a decent income for small-scale farming and entrepreneurial families”

When: Thursday, December 14th 2017, 12. a.m. (CEST/UST+2)

Where: https://www.alumniportal-deutschland.org/en/webinars-events/webinars/living-income/

Millions of workers as well as small-scale farmers and entrepreneurs do not have a wage or an income which enables them and their families to reach a decent standard of living, despite working full-time. Many live significantly below the poverty line. However, full-time employment should allow smallholder farmers and entrepreneurs and their families to have a dignified life through a living income.

A living income benchmark is a target income level for a particular place that reflects both the cost of a decent standard of living in that place and the expectation about how much the income received by a person can reasonably be expected to contribute to supporting a decent standard of living for an average family.

In this webinar, Friederike Martin, Project Manager at GIZ, will cover the ongoing discussion, methods and approaches in the field of living income. She will present activities from several sectors around the globe, including tea, cocoa and rubber.

The webinar will be held in English and streamed live from the University of Bonn to the community group The AGEP-Network in the Alumniportal Deutschland http://alumniportal-deutschland.de/group-agep-alumni

In order to be able to take part in the webinar, all you have to do is join the Alumniportal Deutschland if you have not already done so and become a member of group The AGEP-Network. Joining the network is free of charge.

If you cannot make it to the live session, the recording of the webinar will be uploaded to the group soon after the session, so that you do not have to miss out on the presentation and discussion.

We are looking forward to seeing you online soon!
