„After Paris: How can Universities fight Climate Change?”

When: Wednesday, 16 December 2015, 3 p.m. (CET)

Where: http://alumniportal-deutschland.de/webinar-agep

Climate change is widely acknowledged as mankind’s most pressing challenge and what we do in the next few years will determine whether we can avoid serious impacts. There’s an urgent need for new approaches, new products and services, to tackle climate change.

Higher education occupies a central position in shaping the way how to cope with the chal-lenge of climate change.

In terms of their social, economic and ecological responsibility, universities must contribute fundamentally to the global efforts to fight against climate change. As crucial stakeholders, they are called upon to take constructive part in the process of mainstreaming environment and climate change and give important impetus to the solution of global environmental prob-lems. Higher education is pivotal in man’s ability to tackle environmental and development issues. In particular the higher education of future decision makers and teachers should fo-cus on a climate friendly and sustainable development and convey a sense of ethical re-

sponsibility. The webinar will be held in English and streamed live from the Technical University Dortmund to the community group The AGEP network in the Alumniportal Deutschland.

In order to be able to take part in the webinar, all you have to do is join the Alumniportal Deutschland, if you have not already done so and The AGEP network. Joining the network is free of charge.
